Emailing Customer Contacts

Contacts can be emailed directly from Inform, using your SMTP email settings. Emails will have your outside company email address as the sender (ex. Bob@ddisys.com) and replies will go to your outside email account, not Inform. Your user account should be set up with your Email Username and Email Password to allow emails to be sent from that address. For more information, see the Add a User page or contact your system administrator.

 

Email a customer contact

1.Click on the contact's name to open the contact information.

2.Click the hyperlinked email address in the Email field towards the bottom of the window. If there is no email address, enter an address by double-clicking on the field and then clicking on it.

3.Compose your email in the window. Be sure to enter a subject in the subject line for your message.

4.When you have finished writing your email, click the Send button to send it to the customer contact.

Note: If you receive an error message warning that the "SMTP Server Address or SMTP Server Communication Port is not set up in Company File!" you will need to contact a system administrator to verify that your user account email settings are correct.
