Unit of Measure Import Settings

For new products

When importing new products, you can choose to set the default Unit of Measure using the UOM field shown below. All new products included in the spreadsheet will be imported with this Unit of Measure.

The Unit of Measure that you choose to use must already be set up in your system. For help setting up a new Unit of Measure, see the Create a Unit of Measure page.

For existing products with pricing updates

When you are importing new prices for products that already exist, the system will assume that the price on the spreadsheet is in the Price Unit of Measure that is specified for the product in the Product Master (shown below).

If the Unit of Measure of the price on the spreadsheet differs from the Price Unit of Measure in the Product Master, you need to specify the Pricing Unit of Measure that is used for each product on the spreadsheet. This allows the system to factor the price correctly for items with multiple Units of Measure.

This field should be included in a column on your spreadsheet, and match to the Pricing Unit of Measure field in the Product Import screen (shown below).

For example, if the vendor provides a spreadsheet with a list price for a Case, and you price the item by the Each, you need to specify on the spreadsheet that the Pricing Unit of Measure for the price on the spreadsheet is a Case (CS), so that the system can factor the price on the spreadsheet correctly when it is imported.
