Create a Major Group

To create a Major Group follow the easy steps below. Once you have created a major group, you can assign product lines to it through the Information tab on the Product Line screen, or through the Product Mass Change screen.

 

1. Starting from the main screen, select File > Product > Major Group.

 

2. Click the New button in the bottom toolbar. This will open a new major group record.

 

3. Enter a reference code for the new major group in the Major Group field and press Tab. A "New Record" box will be displayed to the right of your entry. If you enter a code that is already assigned to a major group, the system will display information pertaining to the existing major group.

 

4. Enter a description of the major group in the Description field and press Tab.

5. Click the Save button in the bottom toolbar to save the new major group to the system. You can now assign product lines to the major group through the Information tab on the Product Line screen. An example of a completed entry is shown to the left.
