The Salesman screen is broken down into four sections: •Setup - for adding, editing, and removing salesman information •Matrix - for setting and updating commission matrix formulas, requirements, and quotas •Statement - for running a commission statement •Re-index - for recalculating commissions on previous invoices after adjusting the commission matrix
Each customer entered into the system must be assigned to a salesman. This may be a specific salesperson at your company or a "House" account. The salesman set on the customer can also be changed on an order by order basis, if necessary. This section of the system allows you to add and edit salesman information, including commission formulas. Salesman Commission Statements can be run from here or from the Salesman Commissions screen, under the Sales menu.
As a general rule, a salesman should never be deleted from the system if there are orders tied to their Salesman code. Deleting a salesman with this history may result in inaccurate salesman reporting and can cause errors when viewing information in the Sales Pivot View. Instead of deleting the salesman, change the name of the salesman to indicate that they are no longer active and use Customer Mass Change to assign any customers to a new salesperson.
