Add a Customer |
1.Starting from the main screen, select the Customer Master by clicking on the icon in the toolbar, or by selecting File > Customer > Master.
2.Click the New button in the bottom toolbar. The system will automatically assign a Customer Number to the entry. You may also enter this number manually if necessary.
3.Enter the name of the customer in the Name field, as it will appear on all invoices, sales orders, etc, and press Tab. Note that this is the name of the company, not your contact for the company.
4.Enter the salesman code of the primary salesman dealing with the customer in the Salesman field and press Tab. You can also use the to search for the correct code.
5.Click on the General tab, enter the customer's pricing category code in the Category field and press Tab. You can also use the to search for the correct code.
6.Click on the Credit tab: -Enter the credit payment terms code in the Terms Code field and press Tab. -Enter the tax code in the Tax Code field and press Tab. If the customer's orders are taxable, the taxable box to the right should also be checked. If the orders are non-taxable, the non-taxable tax code must be entered. -Enter the credit limit in the Credit Limit field and press Tab. You must set a credit limit for each customer you add.
Note: While this is all of the required information for creating a Customer Master, we recommend that you enter as much additional customer information as possible. However, in order to access some areas of the master file, you must first save the required customer information. If you reach a section where you cannot make an entry, click the Save button in the bottom toolbar and then reopen the master file for the customer to enter the information. 7.Click the Save button in the bottom toolbar to save your new customer to the system. This will bring you back to the blank Customer Master screen that you started from. Note: You may go back and edit the customer information at any time by first entering the Customer Number in the appropriate field and pressing Tab, or by using the to search for the customer, and then clicking the Edit button in the bottom toolbar. This will open the master entry and allow you to add or change customer information.
